Willis Seale diary, 1893-1894.

The collection consists of a diary of Willis Seale kept during his tour of South Africa with the Royal Comedy Theatre (London, England) from April 1893 - March 1894. The diary describes Seale's trip from England to South Africa and stops along the coast; the towns the company visits and the people; the different ethnic groups; South Africa's segregation policies; and rehearsals, performances and the audience's reaction.
